Two design concepts dedicated to blurring the defined boundaries between contemporary style and functional, outdoors performance converge, as White Mountaineering and Adidas rekindle their collaborative relationship with a new capsule for Spring/Summer 2019.
Yosuke Aizawa’s Tokyo Based label has brought the progressive, aesthetic sensibility of modern fashion to outdoors minded product since 2006. The notion that style, comfort and performance do not constitute a zero sum relationship, but a series of qualities, constantly in a state of flux, is mirrored by the ‘Free Hiking’ concept, aimed at fulfilling the wearer’s needs across a range of environments, rather than a single, specialized field, that Adidas have recently introduced to their specialty TERREX range.
The mesh upper and mountain bike tire inspired traction outsole construction of the TERREX Agravic Speed LD adds a touch of vivid color to White Mountaineering’s signature palette of black and deep blue tones, with teal accents at the toecap and eyestays, and red three stripes and text branding. The TERREX Agravic Boa focuses on durability and stability performance with a ripstop upper, the easy on/off secure feel of the Boa Fit system, Boost cushioning, and a Continental Rubber equipped traction outsole. The TERREX Agravic Boa opts for a minimalistic, technical color approach, with a tonal black upper, offset by blue trim and the white Boost cushioning.
The collection’s apparel, also rendered in the signature black and blue palette incorporates a rippling water inspired pattern into its blend of aggressive, outsized branding and technical performance fabrics.
